Puberty ceremonies became common as of the eighties (of twentieth
century) to Iranian schools by the government of the Islamic Republic of
Iran. These ceremonies are held for the girls who reach the age of nine.
The puberty age for boys is fifteen; however, no such ceremonies are held
for them. They are obliged to practice their religious and theological tasks
upon the termination of such ceremonies. As viewed by Islam, these ages
indicate the commencement of pubescence in girls and boys.
