Wardah, a versatile visual artist, was born in Multan. She obtained a Bachelors of Graphic Design from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan (2010) and then completed her Masters in Visuals Arts from National college of Arts, Lahore (2012). Youngest Ph.D. candidate in Art History from University of Punjab, College of Art and design, Lahore (2013- 2019) and teaches as visiting lecturer.
Two of her articles published for Oxford Companion to Pakistani Art (2014). She was selected in International Artist Residency program in Kingman, Arizona (2016). Invited twice for artist talk at South Asian Women Collective, New York (2016), International Meeting of Art with twenty one other countries, Istanbul (2017). Bukhari was Guest Curator of the studio BQ Artist-in-Residence program, Lahore (2015). She awarded “Best Artist Award” by Alhamrah Arts Council, Lahore (2017). She participated in first International Karachi Biennale, Pakistan (2017).Bukhari has had two solo shows in Lahore and participated in several group exhibitions in Pakistan, UAE, USA, UK and Turkey.
Bukhari working in various mediums i.e. drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video and digital art and performance art. Her work is to recreate the existing image through new visual language by including different subject matters from craft to aesthetics, history to myth, tradition to new media arts, religion to politics.
